U Nelson Dwa was born in Maubin, Burma , 1933. He was 1 of 6 children born to U Shwe Dwa and Daw Thaya. U Nelson's father was a school Principal while his mother took care of the children.

Both his parents passed away when he was young so U Nelson and his siblings lived with other relatives for most of their lives. When U Nelson entered adulthood, he joined the army and fought for his people.

By the end of World War II, U Nelson left the army to settle down and found a job in Rangoon, Burma as an Accountant. While he was settling in his career, he met his wife, Daw Thwet, at the Baptist Missionary compound living complex.

After they were married, U Nelson and his wife had 3 children; MiMi Lwin Dwa, Wah Wah Lwin Dwa and Saw-Soe Lwin Dwa.

In 1977, U Nelson and his family moved to the United States of America where he prayed for a better opportunity. In addition to raising his
children, he also helped found the "First Burmese Baptist Church" in San Francisco, which now has several chapters throughout the Bay Area.

On October 10, 2012, the Lord called upon U Nelson to come home. With his dedication and devotion to his Faith, he is survived by his
loving wife, 3 children, 4 grandchildren along with his 2 brothers, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
