Lily Ann Ho Chin Low passed away peacefully in Pasadena on July 16, 2012, at the age of 78. She was born on February 15, 1934, in International Falls, MN, where she lived until she moved to San Francisco in 1952.
She was employed by the San Francisco Unified School District where she taught kindergarten through eighth grade for 33 years.
She was a member of Alpha Sigma Pi, Opti-MS, Y-MS, Bechtel Wives, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA), the Chinese American Bridge Club, and the Chinese Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing tennis, dancing, and playing bridge in the Duplicate and Party Bridge Club, while also spending many challenging hours on jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed many vacations with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed going to Lake Tahoe every summer for the Chinese Tahoe Family conference.
Lily is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Leong Low; her son Gregory (Jeanne); her daughter Valerie Kwong (Peter); grandchildren Jacquelynn and Michael Kwong; brother Thomas Ho (Helen); sisters Mary Wong and Helen Takahashi (Keith); brothers-in-law Joseph Ng, Kay Low (Toshi), Healy Leong (Lee); sister-in-law Peggy Lee (Edmund); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Willie and Maynard, sister Jean Ng, sister-in-law Peony Eng, and brother-in-law Tommy Eng.
Private interment at Cypress Lawn in Colma.
